EM Security Tags for Libraries
TAGIT develops and manufactures a wide range of electromagnetic (EM) security labels for libraries, archives and other institutions. Our EM labels are manufactured in Europe under controlled production and quality processes and are available for TAGIT systems as well as many existing and legacy EM library security installations.
One of TAGIT's most widely used library products is the 165 mm 3T Tail Tag. This ultra-slim EM security label is designed for discreet insertion into books and journals. Double-sided adhesive and extended release-fabric tails allow the label to be inserted deep into the book gutter, making visual detection and unauthorized removal more difficult.
Deactivatable & Non-Deactivatable EM Labels
For lending libraries, deactivatable EM security labels can be repeatedly activated and deactivated as books are borrowed and returned. The label can be deactivated during legitimate checkout and reactivated when the item is returned to the library.
For reference collections and materials that should not leave the controlled area, TAGIT also provides non-deactivatable EM security labels for permanent theft protection.

For discreet book protection, an EM security label can be inserted between the pages toward the back of the book. The appropriate position may vary depending on the book format and label type.
Can two EM labels be placed at 90 degrees to improve detection?
Using two EM labels in different orientations may improve detection in some situations, but it can make activation and deactivation more complicated. For this reason, it is generally not recommended.
Can EM security labels be cut or shortened?
No. Cutting or shortening an EM security label can reduce its detection performance and may prevent reliable operation. Use the label in its intended dimensions.
