TAGIT manufactures high-performance EM EAS security labels for retail loss prevention, library security, and asset protection. Produced entirely in-house at our Prague manufacturing facility, TAGIT EM labels provide consistent quality, supply continuity, and customization for a wide range of security applications.
Our in-house manufacturing capabilities include EM ribbon casting, label converting, custom printing, and specialized EM label development for challenging retail, library, and asset protection applications. Retailers and libraries with existing TAGIT installations can source original TAGIT EM labels directly from the manufacturer.
TAGIT EM EAS labels are used worldwide for:
Retail loss prevention and theft reduction
Library and media protection
Asset and inventory protection
Document and archival security
Available solutions include deactivatable EM labels, foil-resistant labels, custom-printed labels, and specialty EM label formats for metal-containing, curved, small, and difficult-to-protect products.
TAGIT EM EAS labels are designed for compatibility with most major electromagnetic (EM) security systems, including TAGIT, 3M™, J&P Systems, Gateway, Certus, and Dialoc. They provide reliable theft protection for retail merchandise, library collections, media, documents, and institutional assets.
For Meto and mixed EM installations, compatibility with standard EM labels depends on the system configuration. TAGIT offers dual-technology EM labels designed to support both Meto and non-Meto detection formats, providing a solution for environments operating different EM system platforms.
Whether replacing existing labels, supporting a legacy EM installation, or deploying a new security solution, TAGIT offers a wide range of EM EAS label formats for retail loss prevention, library security, asset protection, and specialized applications involving metal-containing, curved, small, and difficult-to-protect products.
Yes. TAGIT 3D EM EAS systems can detect EM security labels concealed inside aluminium foil and booster bags. They also provide reliable detection of EM labels applied to metal, curved, and small-format products, helping retailers protect high-risk merchandise that can be challenging for conventional EAS technologies.
Yes. TAGIT EM security labels are compatible with most standard electromagnetic (EM) EAS systems, including mixed and legacy installations. Compatibility with certain Meto EM systems cannot be guaranteed when using standard EM labels.
For locations operating both Meto and non-Meto EM systems, TAGIT offers dual-technology EM security labels compatible with both detection formats. These labels can be applied during product manufacturing or at the distribution center (DC), enabling reliable detection across different EM EAS system platforms.
Yes. TAGIT 3D EM systems can detect EM labels applied to metal and metal-containing objects, where conventional electromagnetic systems may experience reduced performance.
Detection performance can be affected if the metal object is strongly magnetized, as this may interfere with the electromagnetic response of the label and reduce detection reliability.
For most retail, library, and industrial applications, TAGIT's patented 3D EM technology provides reliable detection on a wide range of metal-containing products and packaging.
The optimal EM label depends primarily on the size, shape, material, and packaging of the product.
Larger products typically benefit from longer EM labels, which provide a stronger signal and increased detection range.
Smaller products often require compact, high-performance labels such as TAGIT Twin Labels or Power Labels, which deliver reliable detection while fitting into limited application areas.
In general, longer labels offer increased detection performance, while high-performance label formats are designed to improve results on challenging surfaces, complex packaging, metal-containing products, or space-constrained applications.
TAGIT offers more than 300 EM label formats and can recommend the most suitable solution based on your product and security requirements.
TAGIT 3D EM systems enable protection of a wider range of high-shrink and difficult-to-protect products compared to many alternative technologies, helping retailers reduce overall shrinkage and improve return on investment.
Actual ROI depends on factors such as store size, product mix, theft levels, and existing security coverage. In most cases, ROI is driven by measurable reductions in theft-related losses and improved protection of high-value merchandise.

Only items with strong magnetic properties may interfere with electromagnetic detection and therefore cannot always be protected reliably using EM labels.
Apart from this limitation, TAGIT 3D EM technology is highly versatile and compatible with a broad range of retail, library, document security, and institutional applications. It can be used to protect products and assets that are often difficult to secure with other EAS technologies.
Environmental noise interference in electromagnetic (EM) EAS systems is caused by nearby equipment or infrastructure that generates or distorts electromagnetic fields, potentially affecting detection stability and signal performance.
Common sources include:
- Air conditioning systems and industrial electrical equipment
- Computer monitors, servers, and IT infrastructure
- High-frequency or specialized lighting systems
- Other EM EAS systems installed nearby (including certain legacy EM installations)
This type of interference is a known characteristic of all electromagnetic security systems and is not specific to TAGIT solutions.
TAGIT's patented 3D EM technology is designed to maintain stable detection performance in environments with typical electromagnetic noise, supporting reliable operation in retail, library, government, and institutional applications.
If environmental noise cannot be reduced physically, detection performance can be optimized through system configuration and tuning methods:
Master–Master configurations to enhance system robustness in demanding installations
Sensor-based tuning and calibration for fine adjustment of detection sensitivity and field stability
These approaches help maintain reliable EM EAS detection performance even in environments with persistent electromagnetic interference or complex installation conditions.
TAGIT 3D EM EAS systems support variable aisle widths depending on the installation environment, electromagnetic noise levels, antenna configuration, system tuning, and the EM security labels used. Lower electromagnetic noise and optimized system configurations generally allow wider antenna spacing while maintaining reliable detection performance. TAGIT is also developing the BMI30 system, designed to support aisle widths of up to 1.4 meters under suitable installation conditions.
Detection range and aisle width can be further improved through the right combination of EM label selection, antenna configuration, and system tuning. Longer or higher-performance EM labels can increase detection range, while optimized antenna configurations and site-specific calibration can improve system performance. Environmental electromagnetic noise also plays an important role: lower-noise conditions generally allow wider antenna spacing while maintaining reliable detection.
